Our Advocate for Social Justice Committee has been actively educating and registering voters in teh community. On April 5, 2024 the committee hosted a voter registration table at the HBCU Conference on the campus of St.  Philip's College.   

Alpha Tau Omega continues our support of community events throughout the month of March. Members attended the Friends of Sam Houston Scholarship Breakfast. Our President attended the National Council of Negro Women 11th Texas State Conference where she greeted their 9th National Chair of the Board and our sister, Dr. A. Lois Keith.

On March 24, 2024, we returned to Second Baptist Church for the San Antonio NPHC charter church service.

On March 16, 2024 Our Generation Next Committee held a clothing drive to benefit women in need. Thanks to all who donated from the community. We were able to donate $5000 worth of clothing.

The arts committee attended an amazing performance of the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater performance at The Tobin Center. 

In February, we supported more community events including the Holy Redeemer Mardi Gras Gala and the Links Western Gala. Our President brought greetings during the 60th Convention of the Texas Council of Alpha Chapters with featured a hospitality suite hosted by our members along with our Sisters from Alpha Alpha Xi Omega Chapter. Alpha Tau Omega congratulates our members that were recognized with awards at the convention.

In February we join the San Antonio community as the 2024 Fiesta kicked-off with poster unveiling and media day. Our President and Chairmen exchanged medals and joined the Fiesta Commission and local officials for celebrations around the city. 

February 24, 2024 marked the 36th Mahogany Brain Challenge.  We welcomed 10 teams and writing contestants including teams from Houston! 

On February 23, 2024, Alpha Tau Omega members participated in the Roseville Housing Trust Hidden Jewel celebration in recognition of the Roseville Housing Trust completion of a $2.2 million dollar renovation of the apartment complex. Our CHIPP committee has been busy packing and distributing all that food we collected in January! All donations help to feed children who are food insecure in the San Antonio community. Intersted in donating? Visit our Amazon wishlist or email us at atoakasa@atoaka.net

In February, our scholarship committee distributed applications at the HBCU college Fair as we work as we create life-changing opportunities for students in our community through scholarships. 

On February 2, 2024, we joined our fellow NPHC members for the Spurs Black Heritage night. Our sister,  Aaronetta Pierce, was recognized for her community engagement and advocacy with the custom Spurs jersey. 

In January we were in the community supporting others including the Delta Rho Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.  MLK Breakfast, NAACP Jubilee Sunday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church,  the Phi Theta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Dream Major Gala and the MEDCOM Ball.  

From January 26-28, 2024, Alpha Tau Omega Chapter Celebrated our 116th Founders' Day with a weekend that focused on Sisterhood and Service. On Sunday, we worshiped at Second Baptist Church followed by a luncheon which featured our guest speaker, Ms. Danette Anthony Reed, International President and CEO of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. ™️. She also had a chance to tour Roseville Apartments during her visit.

On January 14, 2024 Alpha Tau Omega Chapter joined the San Antonio community as we honored the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as we  continue the fight to address  injustices in our community.  

On January 13, 2024 the We Are One AKA Day of Service partnered withe CHIPP committee to collect food donations. 

The Alpha Tau Omega Chapter held its 2024 Kwanzaa Celebration on January 6, 2024. With a focus on Kuumba, the prinicple of Creativity, there was food, music and dancing during this community event.
