Welcome to the website of the Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. It is with great honor and humility that I have the opportunity to serve as the president of this outstanding chapter.
Alpha Tau Omega Chapter (ATΩ) was charted on November 15, 1930, in San Antonio, Texas. From 1930 to the present the chapter continues to impact the San Antonio community and beyond with its progressive and pioneering spirit of service.
We own and operate Roseville Apartments, an 88-unit complex on the eastside of San Antonio that serves the elderly, disabled and veterans. We have established two Foundations; San Antonio Ivy Educational Fund, Inc. (SAIEF) that allows for a broader financial support for charitable contributions and Alpha Tau Omega Senior Opportunity Services of Texas, Inc. (ATO-SOS) which addresses the welfare of elderly. A milestone was made with the renaming of Kilrea Street to Alpha Kappa Alpha Way. ΑΤΩ sponsors two undergraduate chapters, Delta Rho, a city-wide chapter and Omicron Tau located on the campus of UTSA. Fashionetta™ our major fundraiser, debuted on the San Antonio stage in 1951 and its’ legacy continues.
Alpha Tau Omega’s legacy programs continue to benefit the community; ATΩ Summer Reading Camp at Eastside Boys and Girls Club, a Mentoring program at MLK Academy for middle school girls, Mahogany Brain Challenge (MBC), a black history competition and an official San Antonio Fiesta event called Praise Dance Celebration.
Our chapter takes pride in its accomplishments over the past 91 years, as the premiere service organization in San Antonio, under the dynamic leadership of 43-chapter presidents and the contributions of over 300 members.
